Priorities in tackling elder abuse and neglect in the "Decade of Healthy Aging" and how health care professionals may contribute to this.

A lecture by Prof Marie Beaulieu from the University of Sherbrooke, Canada.

Marie Beaulieu is a full professor at the University of Sherbrooke and a leading expert in the field of elder abuse and neglect. Since November 2010, she has held the position of Research Chair on Mistreatment of Older Adults financed by the Québec Government. Since July 2017, she is co-directing the WHO collaborating centre "Age-friendly communities and Elder abuse and Neglect”. The principal focus of her 30-year research career has been on countering mistreatment, the sense of security of older adults, ethics, aging and end-of-life care. In this lecture, Prof Beaulieu will elaborate on the priorities in tackling elder abuse and neglect in the "Decade of Healthy Aging" and how researchers and health care professionals may contribute to this.
