Stress and resilience for researchers

Cluster

Leadership & personal efficiency

Target group

Doctoral researchers of the Doctoral Schools of Ghent University and postdoctoral researchers, no previous knowledge required.

Aim

The aim of this workshop is to understand how stress impacts our body, mind and performance. While keeping a balanced perspective, we provide keys to lower stress and to increase resilience.

The first session is targeted at informing participants and inspiring them to change their (thinking) habits. The second session acts as a follow-up session where we evaluate what (doesn’t) work and add some additional theoretical insights to foster durable change.

Preparation

What causes stress? What drains your energy levels?
List everything you can think of, both at work and life in general. Bring your results to the workshop (printed or digital).
